Safety First

LRE ROYAL SAFETY PHILOSOPHY
LRE Royal bases its safety and accident prevention policy on a sincere desire to eliminate occupational injuries and illnesses as well as damage to equipment and property

LRE Royal is strongly committed to the safety and health of all our employees, and to the protection of the environment. To fulfill that commitment, every employee must also take personal responsibility for their own safety and health, and must consider the safety and health of co-workers and others as an integral part of their work activities. It is the goal of LRE Royal to foster a culture that instills a source of pride and duty to protect the health and welfare of all our employees, and everyone we come in contact with during our work assignments.

imgLRE Royal’s safety program is structured around
two fundamentals, planning and communication. Planning and communicating safety into every task is accomplished utilizing the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and the Safety Task Assignment (STA).

Job Safety Analysis is the term given to the
exercise of identifying risks to health and safety in the workplace, and documenting the control measures taken to manage those risks. It is an overall look at safety hazards associated with a project. Its ownership lies with the project manager, superintendent, and the site foreman.

The safety task assignment is a procedure used to make an effective safety audit for a task when it is assigned. It is carried out at the beginning of each shift and at the beginning of each task assigned.

imgThe STA is performed as a meeting held by the foreman and the workers assigned to the task to discuss any potential hazards of the assignment and preparations for the worksite. It is accompanied with a checklist form that each participant signs to acknowledge that he has taken part in the procedure and understands the requirements.

On a construction project the landscape changes on a minute-by-minute basis while each task, craft, and worksite has its own inherent dangers. A well-conducted STA brings safety awareness to a new level by making each employee aware of the potential dangers and his own responsibilities. It fosters a heightened positive attitude toward overall safety that greatly benefits the company as well as the employee.
